Armed Robbery-Cavan Bank

The Irish Times - Saturday, May 12, 2012

Robbery at Cavan bank

GARDAÍ ARE investigating an armed robbery at a bank in Co Cavan yesterday. A number of armed men entered the bank at Main Street, Kingscourt, shortly before 5pm, and demanded cash from staff.

There were no shots fired during the incident, and no injures were reported.

Taking a substantial sum of cash, the men made off in a waiting car which was set alight a short distance away. They then used a second car to complete their escape, driving in the direction of Bailieboro.

No arrests had been made last night, and inquiries are ongoing.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information to contact them on 042-9694570.
